20 And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.
21 And the sons of Benjamin were Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.
22 These are the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.
23 And the sons of Dan; Hushim.
24 And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.
According to the Book of Genesis, Dan was the fifth son of Jacob and the first son of Bilhah. Genesis 29:29 describes her as Laban's handmaid, who was given to Rachelto be her handmaid on Rachel's marriage to Jacob.
29 “And Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah his handmaid to be her maid”.
When Rachel failed to have children, Rachel gave Bilhah to Jacob "to wife" to bear him children. Bilhah gave birth to two sons, who Rachel claimed as her own named Dan and Naphtali.
1 “And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.
2 And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God's stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?
3 And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her.
4 And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her.
5 And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son.
6 And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan”.
Genesis 35:22 calls Bilhah Jacob's concubine, a pilegesh.
“And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve”
Dan was the father of Hushim his ONLY son, according to Genesis 46:23 (And the sons of Dan; Hushim). Samson was a descendant of Dan, he is the archetype of wickedness.
John the apostle omits the tribe of Dan when mentioning the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel, in regard to the 144,000 sealed Israelites, instead of Dan, the tribe of Joseph appears twice (being also represented by Joseph’s son Manasseh).
Of the twelve tribes depicted, Ephriam the son of Joseph (Genesis 41:50-52) and Dan, the son of Jacob (Genesis 35:23-25; Exodus 1:1-6) are not numbered among the twelve tribes of Israel. They lost their place because of idolatry. The twelve tribes include Manasses, but not Dan (Rev. 7:5-8).
The Anti-Christ will come out of the tribe of Dan.
