No, Jesus wants us to be of one Lord, one faith one baptism.
Ephesians 4:4-6
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
The perspective Jesus has on mankind being one with God is best seen in the entirety of John 17, but the specific context is in verse 18–23.
John 17:18–23
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
The schism of religion is what has divided believers and is the cause of such a break in the faith, which has resulted in so many different belief systems.

This is a masterful tactic of Satan, which in and of itself has caused the apostasy and such confusion among believers.

One example is the reformation of Martin Luther in the 16th-century that was a religious, political, intellectual and cultural upheaval that splintered Catholic Church in Europe, setting in place the structures and beliefs that would define the continent in the modern era.
In northern and central Europe, reformers like Martin Luther, John Calvin and Henry VIII challenged papal authority and questioned the Catholic Church’s ability to define Christian practice. They argued for a religious and political redistribution of power into the hands of Bible. This triggered wars, persecutions and the so-called Counter-Reformation. The Thirty Years’ War alone may have cost Germany 40 percent of its population.
Christians are the largest religious group in the world in 2015, making up nearly a third (31%) of Earth’s 7.3 billion people, according to a new Pew Research Center demographic analysis.

There religious population of the world is in excess of 7 billion people, Christianity is responsible for 2.42 billion of this population.
When we talk about what the Lord wants, He wants everyone to be on the same page, the schism of the faith that exist in the World is a dynamic one. To offer a perspective on the effectiveness of Satans deceptions and ability to create these schisms, consider this partial break down of the divergent belief systems within Christianity.
